The GR3EN Run is coming up this Sunday, January 17th. GR3EN is proud to be a sponsor of the Kanaka Ikaika Racing Association series, powering paddlers on this 8 mile course from Hawaii Kai to Kaimana Beach in Waikiki.

KIRA Race Director and veteran waterman Jim Foti explains highlights of the Hawaii Kai to Waikiki run this way:  "The magnificent view of Diamond Head looming in the background with the offshore view of the massive valleys and ridges of south east Oahu.  Easy to access for the majority of the population, this is perhaps the most well known and sought after downwind paddling runs in the world."

Wind is not forecast for GR3EN run, the 2nd stage of the Maui Jim Waterman Series for the prone paddle board division, but 150-200 competitors are anticipated. Most KIRA races are open to SUP,  OC-1, OC-2, OC-3, OC-6, V-1, SUP, Surfskis and prone paddleboarders.

Prone paddle boarder and GR3EN Athlete Kai Hall says this run is so popular because "The distance is short enough that most season paddles can give it there all and sprint and surf their way across Maunalua Bay." He adds that with close interval swells they allow you to catch bumps easily and surf your way to Kaimana beach." Another bonus according to Kai?  "There is a good 1 Mile distance for warmup or hammer to the blinker buoy, round that and it's an all out surf fest."

We hope to see you at the bay!
